This comic follows Roxy, who one day discovers a lump in her breast with her partner/friend Dirk.
Worried, Dirk calls a mutual friend, Jane, for advice and to consult a doctor. The story jumps to the hospital, where tests are conducted. (Yes, it's Jade who's performing the breast exam)
When the diagnosis is confirmed, Roxy is overwhelmed by the news of the cancer.
Roxy faces the harsh reality of treatments and ultimately decides to undergo a mastectomy to survive. Dirk reveals his own surgery scars, to show her that the marks left by life's challenges don't lessen a person's worth.
This is my first attempt at creating a 'longer' comic, especially using the 8-page zine format! I thought it would be a great idea to release it for October 13th, Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day!
